Preston Street, Dublin: in the Shadow of the Railway

If the Dart train transport plans for Dublin city are carried out, Preston Street will in time become an entrance point for Amiens Street's Connolly Station, as it had been in the 19th Century. This development will undoubtedly bring new life to a quiet street, developed between the years 1810-1817, which gives off an air of shabby gentility to this day.

Historyeye takes a stroll down Preston Street to encounter some of its past inhabitants, happenings and architectural features.
